The music event – Polonia DJ, was the brain child of 2 people: two time DJ Champion of Poland – DJ Seba, who has participated in many similar events; and DJ KW – a great fan of deejaying who had been thinking of such event for a long time. Polonia DJ Championships is not only a competition to crown the best DJ, but it is also a meeting place for people in the business, a medium to share one’s experiences, a way to acquire new contacts, and means of integrating the DJ social scene. The objective of the event is to present wider audience with issues relating to the well know term “DJ”. At the same time, the organizers’ goal is to have a great time, which is synonymous with DJ-ing. At the end of 2001, the plans became a reality and the first Polonia DJ Championships took place on March 22, 2002.
